Chacho! I'm up at this hour. My new word is:Chacho (idk if i Spell It Correctly). I'm not surehow to translate the English word but I can use it in the correct context. Things are changing in my life. I'm not sure where I'll be in the future, and I have a little fear. However, my confidence that Iam in the will of God helps me to be sure thateverything will go well. I finished volunteering at the elementary school in Carolina. But I'm a bit sad that I didn't fulfill my initial purpose for being in the school. However, the good news is that God had other plans and those were fulfilled. Most of the time I was either confused or simply forgot things (my memory is not supergood Spanish.) Last week I had a super goodtime with my friend from Washington, DC. We went to the Museums, the beach, the movies, and tourist sites. We also went kayaking and almost drowned after being hit by 15 ft waves ( i may be exaggerating about the size of the waves but it was pretty scary). I hope she enjoyed her time here on the island (despite the fact she almost lost her life) ... because I enjoyed our time together.Tomorrow two of my other friends are coming for a visit. I am also going to the graduation ceremony for the class of 2011 from the elementary school where I tutored. I was lucky to receive an invitation from a parent (I'm super super super excited). Lastly, my health has not been well. I'm believing in God for my healing, so please keep me in your prayers.
SN: There is so much healing in talking. I had a great conversation with a good friend. She put a lot of things I have been thinking about lately (pre-Howard, Howard, & post- Howard years) into perspective. It always amazes me how I used to think that others were so perfect and that they have it together. I realize we just don't talk about the mess or the secret moments in our lives. Since facebook used to consume most of my online time (i'm a recovering fbook addict so I limit myself to once a day vs. every 5 minutes)... I had to constantly remind myself that peoples lives are made up of more than the 100+ photos they post, their status updates, and the locations they check in to.
Life can be challenging. I've been privy to learn that Education, Job Status, Money, Relationship Status, People Pleasing, Shoes, Friends Lists, VIP lines, Other's opinions, Marlboro Lights, & double shots of Goose don't fulfill you. True intimacy with Christ is where I have found my purpose and joy. Tonight I'm feeling thankful for the amazing people I love & who love me. Thanks to my
